SESSION 7 · PREPARE

Detective Agency

Learning targets

F, L

fan · lip

Model the sounds, invite a response, and help children try again. Participation and independent reading are different observations.

Materials to prepare

  • Connect your computer to the classroom screen and speakers. Check sound before children arrive. Internet is needed.
  • Preview the activity and writing sheets. Print enough for your group, prepare word cards and an exit check, and keep the teacher guide nearby. Cut cards and print the matching spaces at the same scale.
  • Prepare six paper letters f, l, a, n, i, p and the fan/lip pictures. Cut cards before class. No magnifier or working fan is needed; seated gestures are enough.
  • Keep the lesson slides ready if a video does not play. Read the English notes and model the action yourself.

  • Jimin: A clue is here!
  • Adam: Let's find it!
  • Jimin: Detective time!

Use the letter names in the story. The letters are already visible; let children point to each one. Play their sounds in Sound Discovery.

  • Adam: Pop!
  • Jimin: We found the sounds!
  • Adam: Mystery solved!

Read the original dialogue, then invite one point and one small clap. Keep letter names here separate from the sound models that follow.

4. Case closed
  • Jimin: Case closed!
  • Adam: Great job, detective!
  • Jimin: New case next time!

Invite a thumbs-up from each seat, then move into F/L listening. A real high-five or jumping is not needed.
