Materials to prepare

• Connect your computer to the classroom screen and speakers. Check sound before children arrive. Internet is needed.
• Preview the activity and writing sheets. Print enough for your group, prepare word cards and an exit check, and keep the teacher guide nearby. Cut cards and print the matching spaces at the same scale.
• Use the four-page play sheet and nine letter cards cut by an adult. Two u and two s cards allow map, sun and bus to stay on the table together. Print cards and building spaces at the same scale. No timer is needed.
• Keep the lesson slides ready if a video does not play. Read the English notes and model the action yourself.

Lesson flow · 45-minute guide

1. 0–4 min

   1. Hello Routine

   Use a small seated steering-wheel gesture with the opening call. Do not time or rank children.

   Teaching notes

   Say

   Ready, set, go!

   Look for

   Listen for children joining the final go cue.

   If difficult

   Model the final go cue for children to echo.

2. 4–9 min

   2. Review Bridge

   Show the sad, sit, and dog cards for a quick reading review.

   Teaching notes

   Say

   Let's read sad, sit, and dog again.

   Look for

   Listen for children reading the word shown on each card.

   If difficult

   Blend one word together while pointing to each letter.

3. 9–14 min

   3. Bubble Theater

   Read the four Phonics Racing scenes or play the story. Keep Faster and winning lines in the story; model a comfortable reading pace.

   Teaching notes

   Say

   Let's watch our racing story.

   Look for

   Watch for children following the story on the screen.

   If difficult

   Pause on one picture and briefly describe it.

4. 14–24 min

   4. Blending Flow

   Move from m into a, then finish with a brief p to read map. Keep the sounds close without forcing stop sounds to stretch. Pause and model again when needed.

   Teaching notes

   Say

   Keep the sounds close together. Let's read map.

   Look for

   Listen for children joining the sounds without long pauses.

   If difficult

   Blend map slowly together while keeping the sounds close.

5. 24–32 min

   5. Guided Practice

   Build map, then a fresh s/u/n for sun. Keep u and replace both outer letters to make bus. Slide along each whole word at a comfortable pace.

   Say

   Let's read map, sun, and bus. Keep the sounds moving together.

   Look for

   Listen for children reading each card as a whole word.

   If difficult

   Read one racing card slowly together before trying another.

6. 32–37 min

   6. Singing Bubble

   Chant with a small finger path. No running or timed reading is needed.

   Teaching notes

   Say

   Let's do our racing chant.

   Look for

   Listen for children joining a familiar part of the chant.

   If difficult

   Model one short part slowly for children to repeat.

7. 37–43 min

   7. Worksheet

   Model one word lane, then choose a word-to-picture road or the sun-to-bus card change. Read both road choices before tracing a connection.

   Teaching notes

   Say

   Read both words. Follow the road to the matching word.

   Look for

   Notice the word chosen for the picture and whether the child reads with a model.

   If difficult

   Guide children through one connection at a time.

8. 43–45 min

   8. Exit Ticket

   Offer one plain map, sun or bus card without its picture or a spoken model first. Give time; record separately if a model is needed.

   Teaching notes

   Say

   Read this word with the sounds joined together.

   Look for

   Listen for the whole word and note the support used. Do not score speed.

   If difficult

   Model the word slowly for children to echo.

Story voices

The class screen shows each picture. Read both voices, pause, and invite the children to join in.
