SESSION 15 · PREPARE

Graduation Stage

Learning targets

Reading Celebration

read · book

Model the sounds, invite a response, and help children try again. Participation and independent reading are different observations.

Materials to prepare

  • Connect your computer to the classroom screen and speakers. Check sound before children arrive. Internet is needed.
  • Preview the activity and writing sheets. Print enough for your group, prepare word cards and an exit check, and keep the teacher guide nearby. Cut cards and print the matching spaces at the same scale.
  • Prepare word cards, pencils and book pages. An adult handles cutting and fastening. Play-sheet page 2 is the cover, page 3 is a word page, page 4 is optional and page 5 is a separate participation certificate. A loose page can be shared too.
  • Keep the lesson slides ready if a video does not play. Read the English notes and model the action yourself.

Lesson flow · 45-minute guide

  1. 0–4 min

    1. Hello Routine

Open the graduation session and welcome children to celebrate their learning.

    Teaching notes
    Say
Welcome, everyone! Let's celebrate what you have learned.
    Look for
Listen for children joining the opening greeting.
    If difficult
Model a short hello for children to repeat.
  2. 4–9 min

    2. Memory Walk

Prompt children to recall the activities from sessions one through fourteen.

    Teaching notes
    Say
Let's remember what we did. What do you remember?
    Look for
Listen for children naming one remembered activity.
    If difficult
Describe one past activity and let children respond with a word.
  3. 9–14 min

    3. Bubble Theater

Read the five original scenes or play the Graduation Story. Keep all four lines in the last scene; the character celebration does not assess every child.

    Teaching notes
    Say
    Let's watch our celebration story.
    Look for
Watch for children following the story on the screen.
    If difficult
Pause on one picture and briefly describe it.
  4. 14–24 min

    4. Reading Warm-up

Offer familiar cards: dad, dog, hat, sun, bus and top. Let each child choose one or two. Model read and book as whole words; their vowel pairs are not a test of previously taught single-letter sounds.

    Teaching notes
    Say
Say read and book with me. Now try the word cards.
    Look for
Listen for children reading a familiar word from its card.
    If difficult
Read one whole word aloud and let children echo it.
  5. 24–32 min

    5. My First Reading Book

Use play-sheet pages 2 and 3 for a cover and one word page; page 4 is optional. Children draw and write or place a chosen word card. An adult fastens the left edge in page order. Keep the certificate separate.

    Teaching notes
    Say
Let's finish your book. Complete one page at a time.
    Look for
Watch for children completing the current page's task.
    If difficult
Work through one page together before children continue.
  6. 32–37 min

    6. Singing Bubble

Play the Celebration chant and model its words for children to follow.

    Teaching notes
    Say
    Let's chant and celebrate together.
    Look for
Listen for children joining a familiar part of the chant.
    If difficult
Model one short part slowly for children to repeat.
  7. 37–43 min

    7. Presentation

Let children show one word page to a partner or the teacher. Wait, then model if needed. Presenting to the whole class is optional; a child may point or read together.

    Teaching notes
    Say
Show your book. Read one word or one page.
    Look for
Listen for children reading a chosen word from their book.
    If difficult
Read one chosen word together while the child presents the book.
  8. 43–45 min

    8. Goodbye & Certificate

Give the participation certificate separately from the book. Write the chosen word and any help on the teacher note; do not call it a reading-level certificate. Ask families to share one page at home.

    Teaching notes
    Say
Read your book at home with your family. Great work, and goodbye!
    Look for
Listen for children returning the goodbye.
    If difficult
Show the book while explaining that children can share it at home.

Story voices

The class screen shows each picture. Read both voices, pause, and invite the children to join in.

1. Our reading book
  • Jimin: This is our reading book!
  • Adam: We can read now!
  • Jimin: So proud!

Read the original dialogue, then make a small opening-book gesture. Show the empty book pages children will make. The story celebrates the characters; it does not report every child reading independently.

2. A letter we remember
  • Adam: Remember all the letters?
  • Jimin: We learned so much!
  • Adam: From A to Z!

Keep the original From A to Z! line. This picture shows A through E, not the entire alphabet. Invite one visible letter or offer a familiar word card from an earlier lesson.

3. A small celebration
  • Jimin: We did it!
  • Adam: Hooray!
  • Jimin: We are readers!

Read the original celebration. Invite a seated wave, a cheer or simply watching. We are readers! is the original character line, not a mastery certificate for the child.

4. See you again
  • Jimin: Thank you!
  • Adam: Bye-bye, friends!
  • Jimin: See you again!

Read the farewell and model a small wave. Children may greet a partner without moving around the room. The class still has its book-sharing activity ahead.

5. Another page ahead
  • Jimin: Look how far we came!
  • Adam: Our next adventure is reading!
  • Jimin: Keep reading!
  • Adam: See you on our next adventure!

Read all four original lines. Offer two familiar cards. The golden bubble is story artwork, not a displayed progress report or a promised next course. Let the child read, echo or point and record the help separately.
