Learning targets
P, I, N
pin · nip
Model the sounds, invite a response, and help children try again. Participation and independent reading are different observations.
Materials to prepare
- Connect your computer to the classroom screen and speakers. Check sound before children arrive. Internet is needed.
- Preview the activity and writing sheets. Print enough for your group, prepare word cards and an exit check, and keep the teacher guide nearby. Cut cards and print the matching spaces at the same scale.
- Prepare p, i and n cards, the pin/nip play sheets and pencils. Use paper pictures and gestures; no sharp pins are needed.
- Keep the lesson slides ready if a video does not play. Read the English notes and model the action yourself.

1. Let's explore!
- Jimin: Let's explore!
- Adam: A jungle of bubbles!
- Jimin: Adventure time!
Read both voices. Put one hand above your eyes and look around the picture. Invite children to point to a bubble and say bubbles.
2. Three new letters
- Adam: P, I, N!
- Jimin: Three new letters!
- Adam: Let's read them!
Point to the three letters already visible in the picture. Read the original lines, then let the class name the letters together. Save the recorded sounds for Sound Discovery.
3. We made pin!
- Adam: Pop!
- Jimin: It says pin!
- Adam: We did it!
Read the scene. Reveal lowercase pin below the picture, point left to right, and blend /p/ /ɪ/ /n/. Let the class try with you. The original picture contains P, I, N, not a separate printed word.
4. Keep exploring!
- Jimin: What a trip!
- Adam: Explore again!
- Jimin: Keep exploring!
Wave together, then move to Sound Discovery. Later, build pin and swap the first and last letters to make nip.
